This is currently the only pattern (that I know of) for a calash; and while it is not bad to put together, their are certainly some things that need improvement/ingenuity:
Firstly, Some of the grain lines don’t make sense (Odd angles between bias and straight) and I fear over time some pieces may warp. I recommend you change them, as you like to fit your fabric.
The directions for applying the CB are extremely difficult to follow, so I ended up making it up, and covering it with a decorative gathered piece and buttons.
The neckband is uncomfortable to wear against the neck, and it has to be tied tight in order for it to not flop around. I ended-up padding the band.
Some additional changes I made:
I lined the hood by flat lining the hood piece and stitching the bone casings slightly larger.
I used plastic coated hoop wire (Split down the middle) as boning, worked great!
