GBACG Scholarship FAQ
Do you have to have to prove financial need in order to get a scholarship?
No! We want to assist ANY member who may need monetary assistance in order to attend events, workshops, and lectures. We do not ask that you prove your need through the submission of any income sources or tax returns.
Is the scholarship only for students?
No! It is open to any and all members! Aren’t we all lifelong learners in our shared interest for fashion and history?
May I check more than one award option in my application for the Scholarship?
Yes! Although we can only grant one scholarship award per winner, we will collaborate with those lucky few after the Open House in January so we can finalize scholarship arrangements.
If I apply for a scholarship, will I receive a check at Open House?
No! We will ask you to identify what you would like to use the scholarship for; is it an event? Is it a workshop? We will then pay for your identified need directly.
May I use the scholarship for Costume Academy?
Yes! We will pay (only!) your registration fees directly to the applicable organization on your behalf. We do not provide travel or lodging expenses, nor do we pay for kit fees.
Do I have to attend Open House in order to receive the Scholarship?
No! However, we want to recognize and support our members who are striving to expand their knowledge, so we strongly encourage you to attend! Let us celebrate with you!
Will there be scholarships every year?
We hope so! We would love to reach out and embrace everyone who is fascinated by costuming each and every year!

Scholarship applications must be received by GBACG no later than [Date TBD] to be considered for a 2022 scholarship.
