As mentioned before, these patterns come complete with a BOOKLET telling you everything you need to know to assemble the garment. The original of this dress is in the Sumter County Museum, and the booklet includes the history of the woman who wore it; it also comes with an alteration so it can be worn for maternity. The bodice, upper sleeves and cuffs all have lovely pleated parts that are then stitched down. The only construction problem I had involved the direction of the sleeve pleats but I figured it out. Be warned, however, that if you are small busted, the bodice will make you look completely flat – to fix that, just continue the pleated section further up under the bust.
