Not sure whether the original print of this pattern was in the 1960s or 1970s. Top would probably be best for those with an hourglass or rectangle shape, not a pear shape. I had to add in a lot of fabric to the sides to get more coverage on the bottom and then make the side darts larger on the top. Super easy elastic pants waistline is at the natural waist. Error in pattern for pants step 4 when making the casing. It says to fold over 3/4″ and then turn down 1/4″ and sew for a 3/4″ elastic. The casing would be less than 1/2″. Either the width of the elastic needs to be smaller or the casing wider. Considering that most people are used to lower rise pants right now, make the casing wider.
