I made the Bodice for Evening Wear. It is a very good pattern. This evening bodice will be worn with the 1868-9 Skirt and Overskirt from Promenade Dress in The Victorian and Albert Museum. Because the Promenade dress has bows, I added bows to the evening bodice.

I scaled this pattern directly then adjusted. I’m not very curvy so didn’t adjust too much. I made the day bodice, and used a Truly Victorian pattern to help with the skirt pattern. Used PoF instructions. Many people add length to the bodice which I could’ve but chose not to because I wanted the shorter waist that was popular with first bustle era fashion plates. I did make a belt that would’ve defined the bottom of the bodice but forgot it the day of the event. I used a light weight cotton and twill for the lining. I pleated the lightweight cotton for the trim and used velvet ribbon as well. I recommend this pattern even just for construction help, if you don’t use the pattern and scale it.
