This is a fantastic pattern. It contains both a period-correct corded version, and a quick-and-easy theatrical version that uses boning. I have made the theatrical version twice, and it was a wonderful experience. Keep in mind that I HATE making corsets, so it takes a lot for me to say that. I carefully followed the detailed measuring directions, and ended up with a mockup that fit perfectly. I have a difficult figure and that never happens. NEVER. It turned into a fantastic corset. I did add more boning that was recommended, although the instructions say to add it where you need it. I unfortunately “outgrew” that corset and had to make another in a hurry. Since the pattern had worked so well for me before, I just followed the measuring directions again, skipped the mockup completely (I know, I’m going to hell for that), and ended up with another great corset. I’ve also made the shift in the same pattern. It’s good too, but the sleeves don’t have much ease so make sure to measure carefully if you have larger upper arms, and maybe go up one sleeve size.
