I made the walking skirt shown in the photo. I’m very pleased with the result. The pattern pieces all fit correctly; the instructions are clear and accurate. I had no trouble and will use this pattern again to make an evening skirt with a train.

I cut this in a size 22 and made the walking length. The pattern is accurate and the directions are clear. For additional, excellent instructions on ladies skirts, I recommend the Dover Publications Victorian Dressmaking Techniques. It is a reprint of an early Butterick dress-making book. I was very pleased to find that the hem facings fit correctly, although some of the notches seemed to be a bit off. The back pleats worked accurately and look very nice. I’ll definitely make this again.

Easy to make and wear. I cut the walking version even shorter in the back for dancing. The pocket is a great touch.
