This is a day dress from the Texas Chronicle. It was considered suitable for pregnacy and at home, but women ‘of a certain age’ would make it up in silk for Sunday best. There was a problem with the pattern. The directions were only copied on one side. The phone number listed on the pattern was not correct. Finally, Kaethe Kliot at LACIS was able to acquire the missing pages for me. The pattern was not particularly difficult but, there is one problem area. The front is made up of one big sweep of fabric. During construction, you have to slash into the fabric. The slash is marked on the pattern, but there is no differentiation for the placement and length of the slash for different sizes. You just have to guess. The gown does fit well. One thing to remember is that you want to place the tie in relation to the armhole, not in relation to the center front.
