DESCRIPTION:Please join us as a group to go see the exhibit Jules Tavernier and the Elem Pomo at the DeYoung. We will meet in the front of the museum\, view the exhibit together and share the experience. This exhibit will include paintings by Jules Tavernier of his visit with the Elem Pomo at Clear Lake and will also feature modern regalia and basketweaving by Pomo artists. \nPlease purchase your tickets in advance through the deYoung. \nAs an education non-profit GBACG want to promote educational outings together. This year we are starting a series of Field Trips to go see exhibits together to further our individual knowledge and learn. These Field Trips are NOT a costumed event\, they are intended to learn about more cultures and crafts. Out of respect\, please do not wear a costume.

SUMMARY:How to Film Your Make
DESCRIPTION:Video is a great way to teach and show off makes during the pandemic\, and beyond\, but how do you do it? In this workshop participants will get a 101 lesson in producing video content centered on making things (whether it’s just showing off a costume\, a tutorial\, or teaching a virtual class). There will be time to go over short-form video (think Reels or TikTok)\, but the focus of this is mostly longform. Bring questions\, but be aware we won’t have time to go over everyone’s tech setups during this workshop. The content of the lesson will be aimed at giving participants the tools to use what they have to jump-start their video-making skills. \nTeacher bio: \nSocial media mage by day\, and nerd of many fandoms by night\, Bianca Hernandez-Knight is a lady of many interests. From fighting for a more inclusive Jane Austen community\, to ignoring her TBR pile\, she’s always ready for her next nerdy project. Hernandez-Knight works professionally in social media\, mostly in brand marketing and audience engagement.

DESCRIPTION:Once again it’s time for our annual Open House. This year’s Open House will be similar to last year in that we are going virtual for the safety of our community and members during this time. \nWhat is the Open House? The GBACG Open House is an opportunity for members and those interested to hear about the past year of our guild\, plans moving forward\, and any organizational changes in the guild. We will also have a Q&A format\, please submit questions beforehand by emailing: gbacg.board@gmail.com. As it’s virtual again this year will have fun virtual entertainment with a Show & Tell and Trivia in lieu of our normal in-person activities. \nThis is a great event for newcomers. If you have friends who might be interested in our group\, please share the event link with them. If you’ve been shy about coming to GBACG events or workshops\, this is the perfect place to meet the Board\, learn all about us\, and preview our activities for 2022. \nShow & Tell\, Trivia\, and Raffle!  Sign up for our Show and Tell\, and show us any of your 2021 crafts or creations. Sewed an amazing Robe à la Française? Show us! Got artistic in your sourdough starter usage? Show us! Learned to weave? Show us! Discovered a passion for topiary sculpting? Show us! Trivia will be a mix of your costume\, Bay Area\, GBACG\, and movie knowledge!
