We will be learning to make two or three styles of wire wrapped ear cuffs\, time permitting. They are extremely simple to make. No ear piercings needed. They can be made of faux fur\, velvet\, wool\, or silk\, and can be trimmed with whatever your imagination can devise. In class we will go over a bit of the history of muffs\, look at some period examples\, and then get to work on making our own. DESCRIPTION:Join your fellow witchers at Caer Morhen\, and enjoy some sword fighting\, a feast\, and a sword fighting demo! \nThis is an event limited to 50 lucky witchers\, with an optional add-on Introduction to Stage Combat Sword Fighting Class (tickets are available as a separate ticket from the event). DESCRIPTION:Teacher: Sarah Mijts \nA beginner’s exploration of leatherworking for costuming and cosplay with Sarah Mijts. Students will walk through various leather-working tools by assembling a sword frog (scabbard). Students will walk away from class with an understanding of how to use basic leather-working tools techniques as well as a small scabbard for a sword. DESCRIPTION:Cameo jewelry exploded in popularity during the first two decades of the 19th Century. Jewelers such as Marie-Étienne Nitot created elaborate parure sets out of non-traditional cameo materials such as coral\, malachite\, and turquoise. They were also common souvenirs purchased by young men returning from their Grand Tours. In this class we will be learning how to mix semi-precious stone colored liquid polymer clay\, casting high relief cameos\, and setting them into jewelry.

DESCRIPTION:Video is a great way to teach and show off makes during the pandemic\, and beyond\, but how do you do it? In this workshop participants will get a 101 lesson in producing video content centered on making things (whether it’s just showing off a costume\, a tutorial\, or teaching a virtual class). There will be time to go over short-form video (think Reels or TikTok)\, but the focus of this is mostly longform. Bring questions\, but be aware we won’t have time to go over everyone’s tech setups during this workshop. The content of the lesson will be aimed at giving participants the tools to use what they have to jump-start their video-making skills. \nTeacher bio: \nSocial media mage by day\, and nerd of many fandoms by night\, Bianca Hernandez-Knight is a lady of many interests. From fighting for a more inclusive Jane Austen community\, to ignoring her TBR pile\, she’s always ready for her next nerdy project.
