Belmont Stakes
Saturday, April 9, 2005 Bay Meadows Race Course, San Mateo, CA Elegant attire has long been a tradition at Belmont Park. Ladies and Gentlemen who honor this tradition are always appreciated. Who are we to break with tradition? At An Afternoon at the Races as we celebrated the 137th running of the Belmont Stakes and enjoyed lunch and racing at this famous race track (in our world, Bay Meadows was standing in for New York's historic Belmont Park). A day of racing is a step back in time to a more leisured pace. An afternoon of racing proceeds slowly with 30 minute intervals between each race. That time is pleasurably filled with eating, drinking, socializing with friends, taking photos, and visits to the paddock to view the horses before each race and parade our fine clothing among the other race goers. We were much admired and definitely the best-dressed people at Bay Meadows. |
