| We choose beautiful Sutro Heights Park, on cliffs above the Pacific Ocean, to reflect the Cornish Coast, the setting of the Poldark novels. The characters in the Poldark stories cover the gamut of English society from gentry mine owners to middle class shop-keepers and down to the lowly peasantry. Our attendees also reflected all strata of society. We had music and country dancing on the Green, silly games, good ale and abundant food. The fickle San Francisco weather cooperated and gave us a beautiful mild day. | |
